The Eclectic Team

About chef melanie.

I'm Melanie Robinson. I'm a Wife, a Mom, and a Chef.

At 30 I choose to return to school to pursue a love of cooking. I enrolled at Georgian College with the support of my husband, family and friends.

When I stepped into school for the second time, it couldn't have felt more complete, this is what I was to do with my life. To show people love through food.

During school, I challenged my self at every opportunity that I was presented with. Since I was returning to school for the second time around I had to push and challenge my self. I competed in several competitions, became the junior president of the Muskoka Chefs Association, won a stage to Kelowna BC with the Canadian Culinary Federation in 2012. Most recently competing on Chopped Canada in season 3 episode 9 and winning my episode against 3 other Chefs across Canada.

Eclectic Vision

  • Be the local café that is know for helping others, supporting my local community, local farmers, producers and artisans.
  • Create seasonal menus utilizing local ingredients from local producers.
  • Support the local culinary community
  • Strive to engage the youth with an interest in culinary arts, paying it forward and being a supporter for the local farm fresh movement.
  • Create community events such as the "Common Ground" dinner series in the carousel commons alley way. This would be a celebration of local food around a communal table with like minded people and Chefs.

"Making every meal memorable". Melanie Robinson
