At Eclectic, we believe that using high quality local ingredients picked at their freshest make for the best tasting dishes. We believe in supporting the amazing Orillia area local farmers who produce these delicious ingredients. It's about building relationships and celebrating locally grown and produced goods. Supporting Orillia area local farmers and producers allow us the opportunity to know where our food comes from, it invests local money back into the community, and has shown to reduce our environmental impact. We are proud to be an Orillia restaurant & caterer who supports the hard working & talented farmers listed on this page.
Local food matters!
Julia Child has the best quote " You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces- Just good food from fresh ingredients".
Please read on to see some of the hard working farmers and producers we here at Eclectic are excited have rewarding relationships with.
Located in beautiful Oro-Medonte, Ontario, The Fifty Acre Garden features locally grown vegetables, herbs, teas, and cut flowers. We use intensive gardening techniques and permaculture philosophies to work wisely and in balance with nature. We only use organic approved methods, and never harmful pesticides or insecticides.
Here at The Roost, we offer up farm raised food that tastes like it should and opportunities to enjoy the pleasures of country life with a familiarity that calls you home to roost. Purchase meat or fresh vegetable boxes, visit our summer farm market, or take a stroll through the maple bush. There’s a little bit for everyone at The Roost.
Quaker Oaks Farm is a family run business, and farm animal sanctuary, in the Kawartha Lakes region. Our name, is derived from a pacifist Quaker upbringing and the strength of the mighty oaks that have grown here on the farm forever, thus strength in pacifism. At Quaker Oaks Farm we choose to keep animals in trust that they are family. We are fortunate to have the ability to live a lifetime with those we can afford to shelter.
Our family was born and raised at Riverdale Farm in downtown Toronto. Judy and Mark met there, where a job became a passion and a passion became a dream, and a dream became reality, and reality became a business with compassion.
Welcome to Quaker Oaks Farm!
Lavender Hills Farm is located on twenty-five acres just outside of Orillia in central Ontario. In addition to the existing hardwood and softwood forests, we now have a tallgrass praire that we planted in 2007. Every year the praire rewards us with an ever increasing floral display that contributes as a valuable resource for all our bees and other pollenators in our home yard.
We have additional bee yards in Muskoka, Oro Medonte, Ramara and Severn townships and also pollenate the cranberries at Johnston's Cranberry Marsh in Bala.
As local producers, we harvest and sell our award-winning honeys and handcrafted cosmetics, candles and soaps that we make at select farmers' markets near us.
I have dreamed of living on a farm with my family since I was about 10 years old.... I loved all animals and farm fresh vegetables and always knew country life was the life for me well spending many memorable years on my Aunt and Uncles farm growing up. When I met my husband nearly 20 years ago we always talked about owning land and shared a mutual vision for a family farm homestead. City life was never for us.. As much as we enjoyed the cities we lived in during College and our time spent out west...We always knew that as much as we loved life on the lake, country life was where we were meant to be. Where we could grow for our family, friends and our community. Truly where where we needed to be to make a difference. Today years of dreaming, praying, hoping and a whole lot of work and love for what we do paid off.
